Métairie zone - Surgères

Set up close to Surgères's West industrial estate (zone industrielle), the Métairie activities estate has an approximate marketable area of 43,000 square metres. Since its creation, it is dedicated to welcoming economic activities in the food processing field.

Both colleges ENILIA ((Ecole Nationale d'Industrie Laitière et des Industries Agroalimentaires) and ENSMIC (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Meunerie et des Industries Céréalières) are established on the Métairie estate so instituting an education centre directed towards the food processing trades.

Thanks to its dedication and the presence of both colleges part of the bigger college Etablissement Public Local d'Enseignement et de Formation Professionnelle Agricole, the Métairie estate also constitutes the land support for projects springing from the Centre for Rural Excellence - « Food processing Excellence »branch.

Moreover, the gearing the Centre for Rural Excellence will constitute, will allow Surgères' Communauté de Communes to have at its disposal an operational site to welcome setting up projects. These projects will be able to enjoy all of the training, educational and research tools established in the area of the ten combined rural districts.

N° 2 West Zone Industrielle - Surgères

Surgères's Communauté de Communes recently has ratified the project of the Western industrial estate number 2, in line with the existing industrial estate (Zone industrielle or ZI.

On a 13 hectares expropriation, a maximum of 17 plots, areas between 2,300 and 4,000 square metres, will be made ready ( gas, water and electricity installed) which gives a choice. This will promote the setting up of companies needing quite a large area.

An additional 4 hectares plot of land is proposed to accommodate a project needing a sizeable area.

Fief Saint-Gilles Zone d'activités (Business Zone) - Saint-Georges-du-Bois

Surgères' Communauté de Communes has started the landscaping work of a business site in the district of Saint-Georges-du-Bois, situated at approximately 5 km of Surgères, North-East-wards, along the road RD 911 towards the town of Niort.

This process is directed to the landscaping of a 1.6 hectare plot. This new business zone (zone d'activités) has been specially designed to welcome very small businesses or companies for which the need of land is not so important.

The total marketable area of this business area is 10,910 square metres, divided into seven plots of an average of 1,558 square metres.

Gas, water and electricity have already been installed on the plots at the Fief Saint-Gilles business zone.

Designed for a temporary stay, they are dedicated to both budding entrepreneurs and established business people who wish to test their market before starting the construction of their own building.

At the heart of the West industrial area (Zone industrielle or ZI) of Surgères, four new workshops are offered at a competitive rent :

• Two 200 square metres workshops-short term lettings each including a 176 square metres workshop associated with a 16 square metres office and a 8 square metres ancillary space.
• Two 400 square metres workshops-short term lettings each including a 376 square metres workshop associated with a 32 square metres office and a 12 square metres ancillary space.
